SAPAC’S SEXISM IN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

THE SHOE HAS FALLEN Previous Ad | Next Ad

Prada is using a model in an extremely vulnerable position. She is sprawled out on a bed with an unhappy expression and a shoe that has fallen off. She looks as though she is ready to be taken. This passivity is problematic. It would be better for women to be portrayed in ACTIVE positions in which they are actually doing things, as opposed to spread out across a bed.
