Univ of Michigan School of Music

he Society of Composers, Inc. at the University of Michigan (SCI-UM) was formed in 1998 to encourage and actively promote student composition and performance of new art music at the University of Michigan.

We recognize the breadth of talent and experience within the University of Michigan and realizing that a formal, democratic, and free association of composers is an effective means of both developing our individual skills and furthering the causes of composition and performance of new art music at the University of Michigan.

We strive to engender and develop a spirit of fellowship and cooperation among the members of the association and to actively pursue the interests of student composers at the University of Michigan through the origination and implementation of projects designed to meet their needs.

Projects:
Hosted to the Second Annual SCI National Student Conference
Prime Directive Concert Series
William Albright Memorial Concert
