Internet Resource

CrayonPeople.com News/discussion site for people of color
New America Media A more formal news site for people of color.
Open Office Free alternative to Microsoft Office.  I just switched, and so far, it actually seems to be better.  I wish I had known about this before!
OpenAFS Allows you to access your AFS space from home as if it were another drive.  Just set the cell to "umich.edu" (no quotes)
SyncBack Free software that automatically backs up your stuff, so you won't be crying when your hard drive crashes and you lose your dissertation just when you were about to turn it in. All hard drives crash sooner or later, so for 0$, this is a good investment. Combine this with OpenAFS to back up to your AFS space.
