Standards
- Members shall know and practice the three Cardinal Virtues: Virtue,
Diligence and Brotherly Love.
- Members shall strive to meet the academic goals of their parents,
themselves and their brothers in Sigma Phi Epsilon. Members will also
practice academic integrity at all times by not cheating, in accordance
with the laws and policies of the University of Michigan.
- Members shall keep in mind that they are brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon
and that their actions reflect on the whole chapter. With this in mind,
brothers are expected to be courteous and respectful (especially while
wearing our letters) at all times.
- Members shall always show respect for the dignity of all other persons.
- Members shall respect the property of others, Public property and the property of the Chapter.
- Members shall meet all financial obligations in a timely manner.
- Members should neither use nor condone the use of illegal substances.
- Members will be aware of the consequences of the use of alcohol and will not
misuse this substance and WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS while sober
AND/OR while under the influence of this substance.
- Members will be expected to present themselves in a respectable manner at
all fraternity functions, particularly those involving females and recruitment events.
- Members will be expected to never infringe upon the rights of other brothers. These rights
include, but are not limited to, equality, participation, voice of opinion, and vote casting
without the unwanted influence of other members.
- Members shall abide by local, state and national laws. Members will also expect their
brothers to abide by these same laws.
- Members shall attend all chapter meetings other functions whenever it is possible.
- Members shall be expected to abide by the House Rules which govern the use for the
fraternity facility/house.
- Members shall be expected to confront other members not abiding by any of the above
mentioned laws of Sigma Phi Epsilon
