K-grams!

Class projects are "edu-active" (educational and interactive) activities where college students visit elementary school classrooms to interact with and engage K-5 students in a valuable educational experience. These special "kids programs" provide college students with an opportunity to visit the classrooms on a regular basis and work with students face-to-face.

Currently, we are organizing projects with each elementary school classroom involved in our pen pal program ... These projects range from science experiments, tye-dying, gardening, playing instruments, cleaning up a school, and the list goes on! They provide essential time for the pen pals, buddies, and BookMARK readers (really, any college students!) to interact and get to know each other better. To make projects run smoothly, volunteers are needed to be replacement pen pals (for anyone who couldn't make it), run the project so students can participate with the kids, and organize/plan the details beforehand.

If you have an interest or hobby that you would like to put together for a class project, let us know! Contact the Project Head of the residence hall you live in, or choose any Project Head to help you. All our best projects are lead by people who bring their ideas to the forefront!
