Most books you just check-out at your local library. This book is different, run right out to the book store and buy it. You'll want to read it over and over again like I did. (M.Z., 3-20-98) Most books you just check-out at your local library. This book is different, run right out to the book store and buy it. You'll want to read it over and over again like I did. (M.Z., 3-20-98) Carnal Innocence was the first book I read by Nora Roberts and was immediately hooked on her writing. Honest Illusions was the second book I read and she didn't disappoint me. I love the characters and didn't give a second thought that they were thieves!! (A.B., 3-14-97) This is my all time favorite book. I can read it over and over and never get bored of it. Nora Roberts has a special way of capturing your mind and heart right away. By telling the story from Luke's and Roxy's childhood she makes you feel as if you actually know them. It's simply amazing. (M.L., 3-13-97) Honest Illusions, along with Carnal Innocence, are my two favorite Nora Roberts "big books". Starting when Luke and Roxie are children gives you a chance to get to know them, and lets the reader understand/accept the fact they are sometime-jewel theives. I think any author who can convence the reader that two people who grew up together and then fall in love is pretty good. Not only do we care about the hero and heroine, but the secondary characters are all 3-d and interesting. We care for them, too. We also get an expecially rotten villan to hate, a layer and a politician. All these wonderful characters and a great polt with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. (I.B., 2-3-97) After reading True Betrayals, I was hooked on Nora Roberts. Have discovered many of her books and was not disappointed by any until Honest Illusions. I did not finish the book. Sorry, guess the characters just didn't excite me. (L.R., 11-10-96) I enjoyed the book thoroughly, although I had a little problem with the hero being a thief. (D.T., 11-1-96) I CAN TELL IT'S THE BEST BOOK THAT I HAVE EVER READ. IT IS QUITE SIMILAR TO SIDNEY SHELDON ON THE WAY SHE WROTE. THE WAY SHE TWISTED THE PLOT WAS SO SMOOTH THAT I DID NOT EVEN NOTICE IT. AFTER I READ THE BOOK, I FELT HAPPY FOR THE HAPPY ENDING OF LUKE AND CALLAHAN BUT SAD FOR MAX. I CAN READ THIS FOR HUNDERED TIMES AND WOULD NOT GET SICK OF IT. (C.T., 10-25-96) How can it only be rated 4 stars? This was what got me truly hooked on Nora Roberts! Everything by her is what I consider to be the epitome of romance novels. This was especially good! Luke was an exceptional hero (even though all her heroes are basically the same physically) and Roxanne was and is his perfect match. I thought it was wonderful :) (1., 9-27-96) I loved all of her books but this one was my favorite. Luke, if only 4" taller, would be my dream man. He was sensitive without being a wimp and he had that possesive/protective attitude that I like.. (N.C., 9-1-96) It has a good plot. One of the best I've ever read. (Y.P.F., 8-24-96) One of Nora Roberts'best! Ms. Roberts' takes her time with this one, developing her plot and characters carefully. Patience with the first 50 pages is well rewarded. (A.S., 8-8-96) THIS IS NOT ONE OF NORA ROBERTS BEST EFFORTS, BUT STILL A PRETTY GOOD READ! I THINK IT DESERVES A LITTLE BETTER THAN 2 HEARTS! YOU JUST HAVE TO BE OPEN MINDED WHEN YOU READ IT! (L.M., 8-7-96) I didn't take to this one and didn't bother finishing it. However, at around the same time I read HIDDEN RICHES by Roberts, which I thought was a pretty good read. (E.P., 8-4-96)
