- I have to say that even though AL is not one of my favorites, Maiden of Inverness was! (L.W., 5-19-98)
I have always enjoyed reading Lamb...especially when the subject matter is Scotland! However, this was not one of her better efforts. I thought it was average. (G.M., 4-22-98)
After reading the other Arnette Lamb books, I was shocked by how bad this one was written. It goes to show that you cannot blindly trust a good repeat performance. This heroine was such a whinny wimp!! UGH!!!! Buy almost anything else but not "Dancing With Clara" by M.B. (M.T., 5-16-97)
"Maiden" is the first of Arnette Lamb's books I had read, and it got me hooked on her romances! It is a wonderful and unique book, and I had trouble putting it down! (J.R., 4-19-97)
Little slow to start out, I had to pick it up several times....but once I got going it was great! (D.H., 4-14-97)
I loved the Maiden of Inverness - but then every word Arnette Lamb writes is a delight! She's one of the best in the business! (J.B., 3-6-97)
This was one of the best books I've read by her! I thought the story was VERY original and I loved it! Shes becoming one of my favorite romance novelists! (L.D., 2-18-97)
I loved this story. Ms. Lamb is quickly becoming my favorite writer. I hope she comes out with something new!!! (K.B., 1-5-97)
This is the second book by Arnette Lamb that I have read. I enjoyed the story, it was a very nice story. Everything that you hope for, from a romance. (S.G., 7-16-96)
I read "Chieftain" by Arnette Lamb just before this one, so I could not help but compare the two. I thought the two main characters were appealing, and the initial love scenes were promising. However, I found the "big" love scene to be too unbelievable (for a virgin, she did not require much warming up). I also thought the ending was a bit abrupt. I would have had a love scene there. It wasn't a bad read, though; just not as good as "Chieftain." (S.P., 7-1-96)
It had a good story line, but it was a little slow for my liking. (L.J., 6-1-96)
I felt disappointed in this book, so much so, I didn't finish reading it. (C.G., 5-31-96)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book (P.C., 4-8-96)
Well written, but the other books were more enjoyable. (E.M., 4-2-96)
The Main of Inverness was a bit of a more solemn compared to your other books but i still have to give it 5 stars. A great read. (E.A., 3-24-96)
This is the second story of Mrs. Lamb"s I have read. I was very impressed with her style and will continue to look for her other books. (J.S., 1-20-96) Arnette Lamb is definitely one of the best, and gets better with each novel she writes. No one can beat the historical details or lively dialog which she blends into the book almost effortlessly.
Bravo, Ms. Lamb! (L.L., 1-12-96) Once again Ms. Lamb has created a story where the reader cannot get enough. I find all her novels are "one nighters."
Even my husband enjoys reading her work. (T.E., 1-7-96) I enjoyed this book so much that when I went to England to attend a conference I had to go to Inverness to see the country. Ms Lamb is getting to be a real favorite. I saw a lot of Scotland because of her and enjoyed it. (S..H., 12-6-95) Another winner by Arnette Lamb. I buy each one as soon as they come out. (M.B., 10-28-95)
I really enjoyed this book and have but it on my "rerun" shelf to be read again and again. (J.McB., 9-28-95)
Arnette Lamb just keeps getting better and better! I LOVE all of her
stories. You know an author is great at her work when you wish the story
wouldn't end or you could actually become part of the story somehow!
(M.D., 8-25-95)
Outstanding book. If she keeps writing like this I'll keep buying! (E.S.R., 8-17-95)
This is the best Ms. Lamb has written yet. A fast read, yet totally encompassing. (K.G., 8-8-95)
Fabulous book. One more great one from this author! Can't wait for her next one. (C.V., 5-18-95)
