Michigan Union Banner Availability/Status

The top organization listed each week (gray background) is the winner for that week. Other groups are listed in the order in which they were randomly drawn. If an organization does not claim its won space by meeting with a manager to complete a contract and pay for the weekly space rental by the deadline listed below, the next group on the list will be given the opportunity to rent the space. If your group's name comes up, a SORC Manager will contact you by email.
As you can see below, most weeks have many groups on a waiting list for the Michigan Union banner. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, e-mail sorc.managers@umich.edu. Include your group name and the week(s) for which you'd like to be added. Please also include the date of your event and the room in which it is scheduled.
Each week lists ALL groups that applied. Only the group whose background is LIGHT GRAY is currently in the position to accept or decline the space. Groups with DARK GRAY background have already either accepted, declined, or forfeited by failing to respond before the deadline listed.
To accept the space and finalize your reservation, simply e-mail sorc.managers@umich.edu to make arrangments to buy the banner (if you need one) and pay for the weekly space rental. If your group won the space for anytime in September, talk to Betsy in person during the lottery. You must finalize the reservation approximately 2 weeks prior to the start date. So, for example, if your group won the space for 3/18 through 3/25, you must contact the manager to discuss content and construction requirements no later than 3/4. Adjustments are made for the first few weeks of the semester.
If the organization in first place declines the space, or fails to respond by the deadline, the space will be offered to the #2 group in the list. That group will be given 24-48 hours to decide, after which it will be offered to the #3 group in the list....and so on.
