No more hassle when you need to make a banner!The BPA was designed for easy creation and completion of banners and Diag boards.It features a 30-foot wall for hanging banners, plenty of floor space for painting and markering, a sink, and an overhead projector available for a nominal rental charge at The SORC.
Availability
One of the best and most unique features of the 4th floor is the Banner Production Area (BPA).This is a lab room you can use (for FREE!) to design and color banners and Diag boards.You may inquire about availability over the phone, but to book the BPA you must come to The SORC in person.Any member of your organization may reserve the BPA; the authorized signer is not needed.
Limitations
A group may have up to 6 pending reservations for the BPA at any time.This means that if you already have the BPA reserved 6 times in the book, you may not reserve any more dates until at least one of the reservations has past.You may not use spray paint or hazardous chemicals (i.e.mineral spirits) in the BPA.
Data Projector
You can reserve the BPA and an overhead projector at The SORC. The SORC charges $10.00 per hour to help defray these costs.The maximum charge is $50.00 per day.You must return the data projector to The SORC immediately upon completion. Please see The SORC handout entitled "Graphic Design Options" for more information about how to make Diag boards and banners.
Access / Getting the Opaque Projector
When The SORC is closed, contact the Building Manager at the CIC desk on the first floor.He/She will meet you and let you into The SORC for access to the overhead projector.The Building Manager will not accept payment for rental of the overhead projector; you must pay for it in advance when The SORC is open.You must check out with the Building Manager when you leave so he can inspect the BPA and safely return the projector to The SORC.If you fail to check out and the projector is damaged or stolen, your group will incur charges to repair or replace it.
