Jamaica Mon!
About 30 of our best friends joined us on June 22, 2002 for "Jamaica Mon!"--a theme party for Derek's forty-hmmpth birthday. The birthday was definitely not the focus though. Our birthdays are coincidentally almost exactly 6 months apart, so we use them as a reminder to have a party and stay in touch with our friends. At this particular occasion, we also wanted to show off our newly-completed backyard deck.
We feasted on grilled jerk chicken, spicy mango salsa, and assorted tropical fruits. For the alcoholically inclined, there was a bountiful bevy of berry beverages (mostly Margaritas), as well as Red Stripe beer.
