Welcome to Swing Ann Arbor!

We hold weekly lessons and open dancing on Wednesday nights on central campus. We're usually in the Michigan Union, sometimes in the Michigan League. Please see the calendar at the bottom of this page to find out where we are each week.

The cost is $4 for students (with current ID from any school) and $5 for non-students, with a $1 discount for members. This covers open dancing and both lessons.

Volunteer and Get in Free

The friendly people who take your money and stamp your hand are all volunteers, doing this out of the goodness of their hearts - and because volunteers get in free the night they volunteer. To join our group of volunteers, just talk to the folks at the front desk on Wednesday night.

Wednesday Night Schedule for November

  • 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. BEGINNER CHARLESTON SERIES. Three weeks of Charleson, courtesy of the fabulous Kurt & Lisa! No partner required. Some previous dance experience is recommended. Each week of the class will build upon previous material, so attending the whole series is strongly encouraged.

  • 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Beginner Swing. This class will alternate every week between teaching 8-count (Lindy Hop) and 6-count (East Coast) swing. This class is for beginners, with no prior dance experience or partner required. Moves taught will vary from week to week.
    Lindy: 11/4, 11/18
    East Coast: 11/11

  • 9:30 - 11:30 PM Open dancing!
