Welcome to Swing Ann Arbor!

We hold weekly lessons and open dancing on Wednesday nights in the Michigan Union (unless otherwise specified.) We are usually in the Pendleton Room (2nd floor); sometimes in the Ballroom (2nd floor) or the U-Club (1st floor).

The cost is $4 for students (with current ID from any school) and $5 for non-students, with a $1 discount for members. This covers open dancing and both lessons.

Want to Get in Free?

The friendly people who take your money and stamp your hand are all volunteers, doing this out of the goodness of their hearts - and because volunteers get in free the night they volunteer. To join our group of volunteers, just talk to the folks at the front desk on Wednesday night.

Wednesday Night Schedule for July

  • 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Intermediate Lindy Hop Drop-in. Students should be comfortable with basic Lindy Hop (swingout, lindy circle, swingout from closed) and with 6-count (aka East Coast) swing. Each week's class will have different material and instructors. No partner required.
  • 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Beginner Swing. This class will alternate every week between teaching 8-count (Lindy Hop) and 6-count (East Coast) swing. This class is for beginners with no prior dance experience or partner required. We recommend students take multiple beginner Lindy Hop classes before attending the intermediate class.

    • Lindy Hop: 7/1, 7/15, 7/29
    East Coast: 7/8, 7/22

  • 9:30 - 11:30 PM Open dancing!
