Stephanie Sherk has been coaching the
University of Michigan Synchronized Swimming Team since
2001, serving as the head coach since 2005. Sherk has also
coached the Ann Arbor Aquarians Club Team for the past four
years.
While swimming for the U of M Synchronized
Swimming Team, was a two-time All-American (200, 2001) and a
figure finalist at the 2001 Collegiate Championships.
Sherk began her coaching career as the
assistant coach of the U of M Synchro Team. In 2004 Sherk
served as the co-head coach along with Becky
Trombley-Donnegan. In 2005, Sherk was named the head coach.
Under Sherk’s guidance, the U of M synchro
team developed the nation’s largest competitive collegiate
program. In 2006, Sherk led Michigan to their first showing
at Nationals since the early 1990s as Freshman, Rochelle
Ross took 13th in the solo competition and the team finished
15th overall. The following year, Michigan climbed into the
top 10 at nationals. Last season saw Michigan place in the
top 10 as well, finishing third place among the non-varsity
teams.
Stephanie is married to Francis Sherk and has a daughter,
Kaela and son, Alexander.
