U-M SYNCHRO TODAY

The University of Michigan Synchro team has been in existence for over fifty years and has provided a great opportunity for swimmers who want to continue their athletic careers at an institution world-renowned for its academics. The team is fortunate to practice at Canham Natatorium, a world-class facility that has hosted many national competitions and is the home of the U-M varsity swimming and diving programs. During the 2004-2005 season, 27 women came together to form one of the largest collegiate synchro teams in the country, with 16 athletes qualifying to compete at the 2005 U.S. Collegiate Synchronized Swimming Championships; the U-M Synchro Competitive Team improved in ranking at the championship more than any other collegiate team (varsity or club) over the prior year. In May 2005, the team was granted Varsity Club status by the University. The 2005-2006 program will include a comprehensive pre-season training program, enhanced regular season land training, additional coaching positions, an expanded recruiting program, and continuation of the alumni outreach program. For more information about the team, see "Frequently Asked Questions."
