Members are the most important part of our chapter! Without the membership and their energy, input, talent, and time the chapter would not survive. However, without the direction of leadership, the members' tremendous efforts would be meaningless. Therefore, our chapter utilizes a structure known as The Leadership Council. We rely on the leaders of the chapter to obtain member ideas, needs, and wants, and then incorporate them into viable programming and resources that will benefit the membership, the school of education, and the community at large. The benefit, honor, and privilege of being on the leadership council continues long into the individual's educational career!
Details of this structure, and how you can become a part of it, are listed in the table below.
Opportunities Requirements Training
The two main committees that make up the leadership council are the Executive and the Program.

• The Executive Committee is comprised of the elected officers. The elected officers are required and defined according to the Society and Chapter bylaws. Each officership is bestowed upon the person receiving the majority of votes during election time, one for each of the eight positions. The duties for the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Historian, Foundation Representative, Membership Chair, and Publicity Chair can be found in the pdf link below.
Officer Responsibilities

• The Program Committee is comprised of the various project and event chairpersons. The chairpersonship is either "inherited" or "chosen." If it is inherited that means the person served as a committee member the previous year, and now wishes to run the event in the coming year. If it is chosen that means that the person ran for an elected office but did not win and still wishes to serve as a leader of the chapter. The descriptions for the Kaiser Partnership, Skelementary, Fall Conference, Blood Drive, MLK Day, COT, and Literacy Alive! can be found in the pdf link below.

Tau Epsilon Chapter Structure

As long as every leadership council member performs his/her duties the chapter can maintain its busy schedule to serve all its members' needs. The link below contains details of a typical year.
Tau Epsilon Yearly Schedule
Although overwhelming at first glance, the most productive years actually happen when the group works together to spread the responsibilities amongst everyone rather than having just a few people trying to accomplish everything on the list.

Nominations are usually submitted during the end of February/ beginning of March. To nominate someone please use the link below.
Tau Epsilon Officer Nomination Form
Elections take place electronically during the month of March. The elected officers are announced and meet with the outgoing council in April.

Everyone on both the executive and the program committee are part of the Leadership Council. As such, there are certain requirements each leadership person needs to fulfill during the year. The link below outlines these personal requirements.
Leadership Expectations

Often times leadership council members are required to reserve rooms for events or make copies for flyering, among other preparations for their respective projects. The link below outlines the steps for such preparations.
Event Preparation Guidelines

Planning, tracking, and evaluating events and projects are part of the leadership requirements. The link below contains the necessary forms to help do just that.

Support for each member on the leadership council is of utmost importance to our chapter. To accomplish this, we offer training sessions, which cover many aspects of leadership, both in general and specific to the chapter. The link below outlines the sessions offered and the mandates of training completion.
Leadership Training Series

The training sessions are designed to support leadership council members during their time with the chapter, as well as, help prepare them for their educational careers. The content of the sessions is best experienced personally. However, the link below does show some of the more candid moments of each session.
Leadership Training Moments

The leadership training dates are usually set for the year. The link below shows the calendar for leaders.
