An Event for the Families of
Henry J. Kaiser Elementary

sponsored by the Tau Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi
at The University of Michigan's School of Education

The Mission of Literacy Alive!: is to promote literacy among young people
and support chapter programs that encourage a lifelong love of reading.

Participants of our annual event explore aspects of the "literacy world" through
activities in five different rooms. Each room has its own set
of interesting opportunities set up just for the students of Kaiser!

In the Acting Room words and stories come to life before your very senses! In the Writing Room you will become the author of your own creative thoughts about this year's theme. In the Illustrating Room you will have the chance to make pictures for your own story. In the Publishing Room you will put your writing and illustrating together to make a book of your very own! In the Reading Room you will want to get comfortable with your snack and a book for a few moments of reading about the theme.
A guide will be traveling with you and your group from room to room. This guide will take charge of watching the time and making sure you get to experience all of the activities -
So, enjoy!
