Photography and/or Recording |

Our MLK Program attracts sources
which capture images through photographing and recording participants
during the activities. These capturing sources are from such
publications as The University Record, The Michigan Daily,
and The Innovator. We would like to give these capturing sources
permission to photograph/record images and sound that will enhance their
stories and coverage of the day's happenings. In addition to
publications and news media, we would like to give permission to
University students, staff, and faculty to record photographic and
audio/visual images to use for educational, academic, or research
purposes. In order to give these individuals and organizations, known as
capturing sources, permission we need your consent, as the parents and
guardians of the minor participant(s), to do so. To decrease both paperwork and time on the day of the event we incorporate your consent into the registration form you sign upon entrance during the student participation check-in process. When you sign the form at the registration/check-in table you are agreeing to our safety measures and consenting to photography & recording release. Your signature permits your child(ren) to be included in photographs, electronic recording, and videotaping of the current MLK Program. By agreeing to and giving permission described above you understand that the name(s) and image(s) may also be published or sold (not-for-profit) for academic purposes, video streaming on U-M web sites, podcasting, and broadcast media without payment or compensation to you or your child(ren). You also understand that the pictures and recordings belong to the sources capturing them, and you release all capturing sources from any and all liability that may or could arise from the taking or use of said pictures and recordings. If you or your child(ren) wish to decline consent and withdraw your permission to the capturing sources, you may do so without penalty or adverse participation rights during the event. In order to decline consent please indicate your choice to NOT be photographed and/or recorded by marking the "no" button on the online registration form and by reminding the registration workers of your choice to decline photograph permission when you sign the registration form during the check-in process. You still sign the registration form to agree to the event's safety measures, while declining photographic permission. We will make every effort to shield your child(ren) from image capturing during the day's happenings. If you have further questions or concerns please contact event coordinator, Kellie Hammers, at 734-763-4328. |
