Sample Information:
 | Samples can be analyzed in solid, liquid, or oil form. Samples that are oxygen or moisture sensitive can be handled in a dry nitrogen atmosphere in a glove box. |
Standard foil capsules, made out of tin, are used to encapsulate solids and viscous oils.
Special crimp-sealed tin pans are used to encapsulate volatile liquids, or are used for solids that might readily lose solvent molecules that are part of the crystal lattice.
 | Samples are weighed out to an accuracy of 0.001 mg on the Perkin-Elmer AD-4 Auto-Balance. |
Samples that are heat sensitive are kept in the freezer until they are analyzed.
If your samples are very unstable, you should contact Carol Carter to schedule a time when they can be analyzed as soon as they are brought to the lab. This can be arranged with prior advanced notification.
