BPC: CSC: SAMI: U of M Engineering Council Criteria: Will fund Engineering groups; will not fund groups whose makeup is not at least 50% engineering students, along with other requirements; loans may be granted for events that make a profit; groups who receive funding must be recognized as engineering societies by UMEC; will make large allocations at the beginning of fall and winter terms, may consider small requests throughout the year; will pay by reimbursement Special Instructions: Groups must be recognized as engineering societies by UMEC to receive funding. Center for the Continuing Education of Women (CEW) Type of funding available: CEW provides group funding for student organizations registered with the Michigan Student Assembly. Description: They will only fund groups that are designed to promote the understanding of women's issues. Funding may range from $25.00-$150.00. Your group should submit a project description and budget in writing, if possible. LS&A Student Government Leveraging the Arts for New Understandings Description: Arts at Michigan offers Leveraging the Arts mini-grants of a maximum of $15.00 per student, with $300.00 as the maximum budget per event. Office of New Student Programs Type of funding available: MSA-registered student organizations are eligible to apply. Description: The Student Organization Grant Program provides financial assistance to clubs/organizations who are committed to assisting in the first year transition of new students. Funding requests are limited to one per organization. Type of Funding: $14000 budget for APA student orgs. Application process is rolling, but you must submit an application and have an interview Description: money is allocated specifically for student programming that affects the APA community. Type of funding available: up to $500 for MSA orgs. Not affiliated with the res halls. Deadline is March 7th, and applications must be submitted 2 weeks before planned event. Description: only $1000 is allocated for student groups, for programming that affects a great portion of the residence hall community. On their website however, is a list of residence hall councils and multicultural councils, each of which allocate money to student groups for programming that effects their respective communities Sexual Assault and Prevention Awareness Center (SAPAC) Type of funding available: SAPAC provides group funding for student organizations that are registered with the Michigan Student Assembly AND are somehow connected with sexual assault awareness and/or prevention. Description: The maximum dollar amount SAPAC gives is $200.00. Only groups directly involved with sexual assault or dating/domestic violence awareness and prevention should apply. School of Art & Design Type of funding available: Undergraduate or graduate individuals and undergraduate or graduate groups may apply for funding. Description: There is no set amount to funding. Student Affairs Programming Council Type of funding available: The Student Affairs Programming Council provides group funding for student organizations registered with the Michigan Student Assembly. Description: Students must apply through the office of the Dean of Students. They should also write a proposal for the desired amount of money. University Activities Center (UAC) Type of funding available: Variable. Description: UAC only funds activities that are sponsored or co-sponsored by one of the existing UAC groups. Uncommon Partners Type of funding available: Uncommon Partners provides group funding for student organizations registered with the Michigan Student Assembly. Description: Students must apply through the Office of the Dean of Students. Uncommon Partners provides matching funds to "traditionally distant" organizations that co-sponsor events that build diversity. |
