Statement Against Housing Administration's Enforcement of their Space Use Policy
November 5, 2008

United Asian American Organizations stands against the University of Michigan Housing Administration's enforcement of their space use policy as it pertains to access to the Yuri Kochiyama Lounge and other Multicultural and Minority-Cultural Lounges.  UAAO believes that in order to uphold their Diversity Statements, the Housing Administration must allow unrestricted access to the Multicultural and Minority-Cultural Lounges to those students of color organizations that have long-standing relationships with them.  In a post-MCRI campus climate, UAAO advocates for the preservation of a safe space in which students of color are encouraged to meet and foster their individual identities and values.

Statement against the War on Iraq
October 23, 2002

The United Asian American Organizations does not support any decision to use military force in Iraq. UAAO advocates using avenues of diplomacy through the United Nations to resolve the tensions in Iraq. Military force will only make matters worse. We urge the United States government to pursue other alternatives other than war in order to truly support the well-being of the Iraqi people.
