Who We Are

The University Event Planners is an independent, volunteer University of Michigan organization for anyone involved with or interested in event planning and hospitality. The group has been in existence since the 1980s! Our membership includes hundreds of UM staff from all job families, as well as University and non-University service providers. Additionally, UM Conference Services provides the group with oversight and support.

Mission
The mission of University Event Planners is to:

  • Provide a forum for information sharing and networking
  • Promote professionalism of the membership and the recognition of that professionalism within the University community
  • Develop and strengthen relations between the University and the community at large
