The Interfaith Center is available for lectures, business retreats, workshops, parties, and concerts. Our newly renovated, high-ceilinged sanctuary comfortably seats up to 140 people in individual chairs, auditorium style. Natural light pours in from the large, glass-block lotus window and there are also overhead fluorescent lights and spotlights. Rental of our facility includes a sound system with several freestanding microphones. The Social Hall holds up to nine 60-inch-diameter round tables and each table seats eight people, for a total of 72 seated or 100 standing. A warming kitchen is located off the Social Hall, equipped with a new refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. Our three small classrooms can be used for breakout sessions, displays, or buffet set-up. Free parking is right outside our door and we are conveniently located near Briarwood Mall off I-94 and State Street. In 1991, Jake Reichbart won the WEMU/Emily Remler Scholarship for best jazz guitarist. Ever since, he has been one of the busiest guitarists and bandleaders in Southeast Michigan. His CDs have received nominations for best jazz recording at the Detroit Music Awards, as well as rave reviews from radio stations and publications across the nation. He has also gained tremendous experience with the business side of music performance, while developing excellent relationships with - and gaining the respect of - many of the other professionals involved: Entertainment agencies, caterers, hotel, banquet hall and restaurant managers, photographers and of course, other fellow musicians. As a solo guitarist Jake Reichbart is available for cocktail parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions, concerts and all other public or private events. Jake Reichbart has had regular weekly engagements at some of the area’s finest establishments (many still ongoing) including The Earle, Eve The Restaurant, The Kerrytown Bistro, The Blue Nile, Mediterrano, Goodnite Gracie, The Firefly Club, The Bistro on Main, The Del Rio, Palio, The Common Grill, Evans St. Station, Paesano’s and many others. Jake Reichbart has regular working ties with many U of M departments and has a dedicated UM page on his website. Jake Reichbart is a featured artist in the Michigan Arts and Humanities Council Touring Arts Guide (the 2006-2009 issue has been published recently), and as such, may entitle some interested parties to apply for a grant to cover a substantial portion of the performance fee. He is also a member of the Ann Arbor Federation of Musicians and the Ann Arbor Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. |

The Michigan Theatre, the last and largest theatre built in downtown Jackson, opened April 30, 1930. It was built for the mainstream popular entertainment of the day -- vaudeville and movies. For just pennies, the public was treated like royalty as it passed under a glittering marquee into a Hollywood fantasyland. The building’s exotic Spanish style, lavish interior plasterwork, ornate polychrome terra cotta facade, carved walnut furniture, plush wool carpeting, heavy damask draperies, stained glass light fixtures, and oil paintings entertained the patrons as much as the attractions on the stage and screens. The Michigan Theatre of Jackson Inc., a not-for-profit Michigan corporation, acquired the building from the City of Jackson on August 24, 1993. The group continues to restore and operate the theatre, bring in classic films, art films, live theatre productions, concerts, meetings, and other community events. “The Michigan” has old-fashioned charm and elegance with outstanding acoustics.
