The ADI-R (see Lord, Rutter & Le Couteur, 1994 in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders) is a semi-structured diagnostic interview appropriate for use with children and adults suspected of having a pervasive developmental disorder. It was developed for research purposes, but can also be used for clinical diagnoses.
Western Psychological Services (WPS) expects to publish the ADI-R in the Spring of 2002. Please contact WPS directly for further information. WPS is the publisher of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the complementary diagnostic tool of the ADI-R. WPS is also the publisher of the Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ), a screening instrument based on the ADI-R. The SCQ was previously known as the Autism Screening Questionnaire (ASQ).
If you are a researcher who is interested in using the ADI-R in a research project, you will need to attend an approved training course. Training for the ADI-R is offered at several sites in the United Kingdom as well as in Europe and other centers in the United States. Please see the list of names and contact information of the workshop leaders.
