The Goal
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage full time students to take on leadership roles in the ballroom dance community.
Eligibility
Undergraduate or Graduate students who are new to the Ballroom Dance Club (who have joined after January 1st, 2007) are eligible* for this year’s 2008 Ballroom Dance Club Scholarship. Scholarships for 2008 are now closed. Please contact the Scholarship Director if you have any questions.
Awards
Every year several awards have been distributed amongst the best of the eligible applicants. Previous individual awards have ranged from $250 to $1000. The prizes will be awarded in two allocations, one Fall and one Winter semester, each for half of the total prize.
All scholarship applicants will be eligible to win credit towards a new pair of dance shoes, ranging from $50 to $100!
The Scholarship Director will notify the winning applicants by May 5th, 2008.
Responsibilities of Award Winners
Scholarship winners are required to participate in the leadership of the ballroom dance community. This can be accomplished by becoming a board member of the Ballroom Dance Club at the University of Michigan.**

* You are not eligible if you previously won a BDC Scholarship from the Univerity of Michigan.
** This can also be accomplished by being a member of the Ballroom Dance Team board at the University of Michigan.
