Research Interests: Interested in the behavioral ecology of stream macroinvertebrates. We are particularly interested in crayfish and their reproductive, feeding, and social behavior. At the UMBS Stream Research Facility, we construct streams of various sizes and flow rates to ask questions on how behavior arises in stream communities. Areas we have studied in the past include the impact of flow on foraging behavior of caddis fly larvae, fish-crayfish behavior interactions, orientation of crayfish to odor sources, and the social behavior of crayfish.
