Email Archive
Description
Examples of use
Sending email
Sorting messages by From, Subject or Date Received
Customizing the email archive
Each CTools site has an automatically-generated site email address, which you can view using the Email Archive tool. Email sent to the site email address is copied to all site participants and owners.
All messages sent to your CTools site's email address are stored in the Email Archive. The emails sent to site participants will indicate if there was an attachment and provide a link to get it from the site itself.
Participants of the site can choose how often they want to receive email sent to the site's email address in the Preferences feature in My Workspace.
Site owners can create an easy-to-remember alias for the site's email address.
CTools sites for courses can make use of Email Archive to have an automatically updated course email group. As students drop or add the course, they will be dropped or added from the email group.
Users who participate in more than one CTools site can choose to receive emails as they are sent, or receive one daily email with a digest of all the messages.
Messages can be sent from any email program to the email address listed on the site's Email Archive page. If there is an alias, it can also be used to send email and it will also be listed on the Email Archive page.
Note: Some desktop email programs have problems when attempting to send emails to the email archive. Please consult the particular program you use for assistance. Usually this problem can be circumvented by just logging into your regular webmail and sending the message from there.
Click the column header (either From, Subject or Sent) to sort the messages.
Clicking the small arrow
so it points up will sort the items alphabetically (if the arrow is next to
From or Subject) or by earliest to latest (for Received). The down arrow reverses
the order.
You can choose the number of messages (items) that will be shown on the screen.
1. Click Options.
2. Click the radio button to have messages accepted from anyone,
or only from users with site access.
3. You can change the alias email address for addressing email
to the participants of this worksite.
4. Click Update Options to save the changes.
