Description

The Library Help tool allows site participants to interact live with a librarian at the University of Michigan Libraries. This service is available during library service hours.

Example of Use

An instructor has assigned a research paper to his or her students. A student has a general question about using the Library "Search Tools" service to narrow the paper topic down to a concise subject. Using the Library Help tool, the student is able to chat with a librarian and learn how to use the "Search Tools" service effectively.

Other Library Tools & Services in CTools

In addition to the Library Help tool, there are several other tools and services in CTools that connect to the University of Michgian Libraries:

Include a librarian in a course site: Instructors can add their subject librarian to a course site in order to provide consulting on research assignments, add appropriate resources, etc.

Use the Library Reserves tool to provide a direct link to the library course reserves service.

Use the Citations Helper feature to enable site participants to search and retrieve citations using the library metasearch tools, Google Scholar, and/or manually added citations.
