Flyers History
The Michigan Flyers date back to before 1920. We participated in the first national airmeet of the National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) in 1929, and were a primary force in the growth of NIFA over the years. Former students of the club have gone on to the airlines, the military (including the Blue Angels), and many other aviation careers.

The club in its current form was incorporated in 1969 by a group of aerospace engineering students. The philosophy then and now is to provide quality aircraft and facilities for members with particular emphasis on education. In 28 years, we have grown from one leased aircraft and a handful of members to a seven-aircraft fleet and 400 members.
