The University of Michigan Figure Skating Club (UMFSC) was founded in 1992. The Collegiate Synchronized Skating Team was founded in 1994 and the Senior Synchronized Skating Team was started in 1999.
The U of M Synchronized Skating Teams are under the direction of PSA Master Rated Coach Anne Marie Copp. She has been coaching for 12 years and is also the coach of the Ann Arbor Hockettes.
In 2001 our Senior Team placed 5th at Midwestern's in St. Louis, Missouri, earning them the opportunity to compete at the 2001 U.S. National Synchronized Team Skating Championships.
At the National Championships in Colorado Springs the Senior Team placed 9th overall. The Collegiate Team came in 6th place.
At the National Championships last year the Senior Team placed 6th and the Collegiate Team placed 4th.
