Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

Why do you like doing gymnastics?   I like doing gymnastics because it is a challenging sport and the overall experience of doing gymnastics makes you a better person.
What is your favorite event or routine? Why?   My favorite event to compete would have to be floor, because you get to show off your floor routine. However, my favorite event to work out on is beam because you can work and play around with all different kinds of skills on this event.

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   What attracted me to Michigan is everything it has to offer. The prestigious reputation, education, and of course athletics it has above all the other Universities. The team was also a major factor that attracted me to Michigan because of how close the girls are. They're like family and that's what I love about the team.
What has been your most memorable gymnastics moment at Michigan?   I think everyday at the gym has been my most memorable gymnastics moment, because something new happens everyday and the whole team atmosphere is just amazing.

What has been your biggest challenge/obstacle in gym or college (or both)? How did your overcome this challenge?   One of the challenges I have encountered adjusting to college gymnastics training is the different type of conditioning. We do these kettle bell exercises that work really well, but it’s just a different kind of exercise than the normal conditioning I’m used to doing. I like it a lot though; it’s a good conditioning exercise.
What has been your most embarrassing moment in the gym (ever)?   I've had so many that they're not even embarrassing anymore...lol! I actually can't think of one, but if I do I will post it up!
What goes through your head immediately before a routine?   I go through a mental routine, repeat a few words that my coach tells me, and tell myself to relax and stay confident.

What advice would you share with up-and-coming Michigan gymnasts?   Believe in yourself, work hard, and never give up. Have these three things set in your head and you can accomplish anything. College gymnastics at Michigan is awesome! Enjoy every moment of it. GO BLUE!!!
What is your favorite part of the gym meets?   Performing my routines and cheering for my teammates.
Other than Michigan, where is your favorite place to compete and why?

What is the most interesting person that you've met at UM and why?     I've met so many interesting people here at Michigan, but I would have to say my teammate Katie (Liebs)!!! I love talking and hanging out with her. She is so sweet, down to earth, and a really great person. I love you Liebs!!!
What is the worst exam that you've taken?   Extreme weather exam.

Q & A - About You Personally

What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I have 5 brothers and 1 sister.

How would your teammates describe you?
Nice, hard working, and BH #3 (bobble head).

Who is one of your role models and why?
My family because they have always been there to support me and encourage me to reach my goals.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Right now, I’m majoring in sports management, and seeing where that will take me. I really want to have a career in the sports industry. That would be exciting.

Besides gymnastics, what is one thing that you do well?
Running fast!!! haha...j/k! One thing that I do well is being easy going.

If you were given $431,718 how would you spend it?
I would take my family on a cruise, go shopping, give some money to my family and invest the rest.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
To fly!!!

What’s the best way to show your Michigan spirit?
Deck out in Michigan clothes and sing the Victors song!!! GO BLUE!.

Since beginning college one thing I’ve learned is that…
No matter what I'm going through, my teammates are always there for me.

If you could only listen to one song from now on, what would it be?
It is really hard to just choose one song because I have so many favorites. If I could only choose one, it would have to be "Dreaming of You" by Selena. I chose this song because it has always been my favorite song ever since I was 5 years old ... I just fell in love with it!

Have you ever held a job? If so, what?
I worked birthday parties at the gym for a while, and over the summer I worked at my parents gas station.
