Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

Why do you like doing gymnastics?   It’s so rewarding to learn new skills, and it’s just amazing to be able to do what most people can only dream of.
What is your favorite event or routine? Why?   Beam - because it takes a combination of balance, grace, and power.

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   The fact that it has EVERYTHING: great academics, great gymnastics, great campus, etc.
What has been your most memorable gymnastics moment at Michigan?   Freshman Fridays when we have to sing the fight song in front of the whole team.

What has been your biggest challenge/obstacle in gym or college (or both)? How did your overcome this challenge?   Staying awake in lectures. Now I bring a snack… if I’m eating I’m not sleeping!
What has been your most embarrassing moment in the gym (ever)?   I’m not sure - but I’ve definitely crotched the beam a couple of times.
What goes through your head immediately before a routine?   I tell myself that I just need to do my best and whatever happens happens.

What advice would you share with up-and-coming Michigan gymnasts?   Always try your hardest; if you give it your all you can never look back and be disappointed in the opportunities you missed.
What is your favorite part of the gym meets?   Don’t know yet.
Other than Michigan, where is your favorite place to compete and why?   Don’t know yet.

What is the most interesting person that you've met at UM and why? (new 11/05!)   I've met too many interesting people at UM to pick just one!
What is the worst exam that you've taken? (new 11/05!)   Engineering 100, because there was so much information covered on it and not enough time at all to finish everything.
