John DePaul, President (depaulj@umich.edu)

John is an Aerospace Engineering sophomore.  He was a four-year varsity
swimmer and three years cross-country and track for Saline High School.
John started his triathlon career in the summer of 2004.  While he
hasn’t had a good season yet due to injury and missed training time, he
plans on “rocking-out” next summer.  Other than triathlon-related
activities, John enjoys eating, sleeping, and reading.  In that order.

Favorite Triathlon story:  Ann Arbor Tri, 2006.  John had just
completed his swim with good position.  John executed an amazing
flying-mount onto his bike.  As he was about to take off, an older
woman decided that his spectacular move was way too cool for her, and
promptly T-boned him.  John’s bike’s front wheel was bent, and he
suffered a broken hypothalamus, but he didn’t let that stop him.  John
went on to pass about 40 people on the run and managed to beat 2 people
in his age-group.

Jonathan Abel-Millman, Vice-President

Jonathan Abel-Millman is a sophomore studying Naval Architecture and
Marine Engineering.  He ran 4 years of varsity track and 3 years of
varsity cross-country.  He has trained for triathlon since the summer
of 2005, and has participated in three races.  Jon enjoys mountain
biking, especially down mountains and on the beach.  He also does
backpacking, sailing, and pretends to swim.  Jon has a rare case of
bulimia, known as “racemia”.  In this case, he eats a huge breakfast
before races and then pukes it up on the bike.  That’s completely true.

Favorite triathlon story:  One time, Jon did this triathlon in early
May.  The water was about 60 degrees, and he had no wetsuit.  He may
think that makes him a badass, but we know the truth.  Anyway, gets on
his bike, does the mandatory throw-up, and it starts raining.  Then,
out of nowhere, some guy rides up and slashes his front wheel.  Jon is
forced to ride the rest of the bike portion doing a wheely.

Jenny Hebert, Secretary

Jenny is an LSA sophomore.  She is the ugly, discolored, impossible to
wash off stain on the trifecta of John/Jons.  In high school, she
played soccer.  All the time.  When she wasn't playing soccer, she was
watching hockey.  She's been racing triathlons since summer 2005.  She
also takes great enjoyment in rock climbing, camping, the great
outdoors, reading, and the consumption of peanut butter.  She is
probably eating it now.

Jenny's favorite triathlon memory is of the Ann Arbor Tri 2006, where
she placed first in her age group...consisting only of herself.  She
thought she was annihilating the competition, but later realized that
there was no competition.  Sad.

Jonathan Sax, Treasurer

Jon is a Freshman enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and
the Arts. Hailing from Grosse Pointe, MI, Sax swam four seasons and ran
track one season at Grosse Pointe South High School. He began his
multisport career in the summer of 2005, and has competed in seven
triathlons since then. Jon enjoys being active, doing well in school
and sorority girls. He has oak-tree brown hair and dark chocolate eyes.
Jon also tans well in the summer and loves taking people out for
coffee. If you’d like to know more about Jon Sax, you are welcome to
stop by his room in Mary Markley Hall.

Jon’s favorite tri story occurred at the Pittsburgh Tri of 2006.  He
was flying down this massive hill when he heard a loud snap and his
wheel started rattling.  He thought it must be a broken spoke.  Just
then, there was an explosion, and his rear wheel was torn off.
Luckily, he was only a mile from the transition, so he was able to run
his bike in.  Jon never found out who sabotaged him that day.
