Jen started Polish dancing at the age of 3. After 15 years of Polish
dancing, she was ready for a change. She and her sister, as much as
they loved celebrating their Polish heritage, had always loved watching
Irish dance and both secretly wished that they were Irish.
Consequently, when Jen came to U of M, she immediately sought out Leim,
and has since fallen in love with Irish dance and everything Irish.
Jen's love for Ireland has encouraged her to apply for study abroad in
Ireland next summer!! She plans on kissing the Blarney stone, visiting
old castles, seeing the beautiful Irish landscape, seeing some real!
Irish dancing, all while taking classes on Irish music, history, and
culture at Trinity College in Dublin and Queen's University in Belfast.
She also plans on visiting England with Claire, another Leim dancer and
friend, to see their old Leim friend Emily. She is so excited!!!!!!
(Except for the fact that she'll be completely broke after the trip.)
Currently, Jen is a sophomore and neuroscience major who has high hopes
of applying to medical school so that she can fulfill a dream of one
day working for a global medical volunteer group such as Doctors
without Borders.
She would like to thank everyone in Leim who have not only become dance
partners, but great friends. She would also like to thank Mark for
putting up with endless hours of Irish music and random dancing. : )
“When you do dance, I wish you a wave o' the sea, that you might ever
do nothing but that"
~William Shakespeare
