This coming May the Glee Club will once again leave Ann Arbor behind as we head out on our spring tour. This year we will be visiting the beautiful Pacific Northwest in a seven city tour.

The Glee Club is excited to be sharing the stage on this tour with a variety of other performance groups. Starting in Spokane, WA the Glee Club will be joined on stage for one number by the brass choir of the Spokane Thunder Drum and Bugle Corps. Also performing in the concert will be singers from the Gonzaga University School of Music. Other joint performances will included the Oregon State University Meistersingers, the University of Oregon School of Music Choirs, and the Sacramento Children’s Chorus. All of these performances promise a blend of musical excellence and entertainment that Glee Club audiences have come to expect. It is a pleasure for the Glee Club to establish and renew so many connections with quality musicians along the west coast.

We look forward to performing in many beautiful venues along the tour including St. Aloysius in Spokane, Seattle First Baptist and the First Congregational Church of Portland. But none can surpass the magnificence of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in San Francisco. Our final concert of the tour will be held in this nearly one hundred year old church that has become a landmark of San Francisco and the hometown venue for the world famous men’s ensemble, Chanticleer.

As always, the Glee Club could not tour without the support of our many alumni. If you would be interested in becoming a tour/concert sponsor or if you would be willing to host a few clubbers while we are in town, then please contact me through email bensawk@umich.edu. This is an exciting time for the Glee Club as we take our conductor on his first Glee Club tour. We hope many of you will join us on stage and after the concerts for the Tradition, Camaraderie, and Musical Excellence that is the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club.
