A Joint Holiday Choral Concert
11.18.2006
For Public Release
Choral Music lovers throughout the area are in for a genuine treat on December 10, 2006 at Eastern
Michigan University's Pease Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. Measure for Measure - A Men's Choral Society will
be joined by the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club to present "A Joint Holiday Concert" in music and song.
Measure for Measure - A Men's Choral Society, conducted by Dr. Leonard L. Riccinto, was formed in
1988 by a small group of U of M Glee Club Alumni who were looking for a place to sing quality music
after college. In 18 years, Measure for Measure has grown to be one of the finest men's chorus's
in the nation. The Michigan Men's Glee Club, conducted by Dr. Paul Rardin, has been in existence
since 1859 and is one of the oldest collegiate men's chorus in America next to that of Harvard University.
This will be the first time that these two groups will share the stage together and it will be a
truly outstanding performance. The groups will each sing their own seasonal repertoire and
will then combine to sing "Ave Maria" by Franz Biebl. Imagine the sound of about 150
male voices on stage at the same time. It will be a memorable experience. These two groups
share an interest in maintaining the highest levels of tradition, camaraderie, and musical
excellence and are sure to please its audience wherever they sing.
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and enjoy a little "Peace on Earth" at Pease.
Some of the proceeds from this concert will benefit the Music Department of Eastern Michigan University.
