Wow, what is this? It sounds like a lot of fun!
In celebration of the upcoming 150th anniversary of the University of Michigan Men's Glee Club, we are trying to get our alumni involved in sharing with each of us all the sweet old memories that we have had "as we sing out a century (and a half) of song with joyful air." While we are sure all the beautiful Michigan songs will still be sung at least "another century in" (and we're half-way through already. Way to go Glee Club!), we are also badly in need of some visual proofs of us with the "Jay Hop Girls" at "Joe's and the Orient" back in those jolly good old days!
Snaps to our fellow alumnus Craig Brennan who brought this idea up to us, we have created this online gallery where you can share your best memories with us, and all of the Glee Club alumni worldwide. "Why should I go through so much hassle" just to get my photos up?" Because you never know what awesome things we can do with these pictures! We (and you too) can show them at some gatherings with your favourite glee club buddies and amaze them with such a huge collection, or, if we see fit, can make a photo book out of it! Think about this: You don't have to spend a dollar and you can still contribute to club so much for helping us recovering our lost memories!
OK, I want to send my photos, but what should I do?
1. Scan the photos:What you first need to do is to get your photos into a digital format that can be stored and read by a computer. The easiest way would be by scanning them. If you have a scanner at home, someone in the household can probably show you how to scan your pictures? If not, you can always go to your local pharmacy and ask them to digitalise for you for a few bucks. (OK I guess you do have to chip in a few bucks... but that's just a few.)
2. Rename the photos:
Rename the photos to something meaningful. IMG_2832 is definitely NOT meaningful to us. Try renaming them to things like "Rehearsal at MLB4 - 1986" or "Hong Kong - World tour 1967"
3. Upload the photos:
Thanks to the advanced technology, this can be done fairly easily. There are two ways to do it:
A. Upload to our gallery directly by following this 80-second long video.
B. You can simply send your pictures by email to these email addresses, sort according to decades.
