The Club kicked off its 2009 Winter Tour with a January 23 concert at the beautiful and historic Christ Church, Cranbrook in nearby Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The Club's hosts at the church treated them not only to a standing-room-only crowd filled with loyal alums, but to a lovely dinner beforehand as well. After the concert, they were housed by more members of this generous congregation as well as many of their own friends and family in the area.
January 24 saw the Club trek all the way down to the University of Miami in Oxford, Ohio to perform a joint concert with the superb Miami of Ohio Men's Glee Club. The combined musical excellence of the two ensembles was truly extraordinary. After each group performed its own set, the Glee Clubs joined forces on Biebl's Ave Maria, and the traditional African tune "T'ink of Me."
The gentlemen of the Miami Glee Club were superb hosts. The Michigan group was treated to endless pizza and two giant commemorative cakes before the performance, as well as a night of unforgettable revelry afterward.
