Introducing Winter Term 2004!
1.14.2004

For public release:

The Men’s Glee Club is proud to present its Winter Term 2004 line up. This will be a busy Winter Term with performances all over the state, on the East Coast and the British Isles.

Saturday, January 17, the Men’s Glee Club will be hosting Male Vocal Arts Day XIV. MVAD is a day to promote vocal arts and education, the participants will spend the day on the University of Michigan campus, learning music and interacting with Michigan students. The day will end with members from the MVAD counterpart, WVAD (Women’s Vocal Arts Day), as the two groups will put on a mass concert at Rackham Auditorium at 4:00pm. A special thanks goes out to Andrew Hoffman II for organizing this day of festivities.

February 7th, the Men’s Glee Club will be singing the National Anthem for the Michigan vs. Purdue basketball game. The game will begin at 12:17pm and can be seen on ESPN+ (Regional).

The Men’s Glee Club has been honored to receive an invitation to Harvard’s Intercollegiate Men’s Chorus National Convention this March. We will be traveling out to Cambridge on March 12-14 to partake in this convention. And on Saturday March 13 at 2pm the Men’s Glee Club will be performing on Harvard Campus.

This spring the Men’s Glee Club is very excited to be performing off campus twice in the Eastern Michigan area. First, we will be hosted by Faith Lutheran Church in Troy, Michigan on Friday April 2 at 8pm. In addition, we will be performing in the Nardin Park United Methodist Church (http://www.nardinpark.org) in Farmington Hills, Michigan on Sunday April 4 at 3:30pm. These should both be very exciting performances put on by wonderful venues, so we are thrilled to be traveling to Troy and Farmington Hills this spring!

Hill Auditorium, an icon of the Michigan Campus, has been closed due to reconstruction for the past year and a half. After months of restoration the venue’s doors have been reopened. The Men’s Glee Club will be holding its on campus Spring Concert this April 17th in Hill Auditorium.

What could be a better way to end a year then with a Spring Tour? Jim Dunn, Tour Manager, will be taking the Men’s Glee Club to the British Isles on a two-week tour of Ireland, Scotland, and England with performances from May 5-15 in the three countries. Check out the Tour Website (put together by Eric Bidelman) http://www.ummgc.org/britain.html for more details.

This will be a very exciting semester! We, here in Ann Arbor, could not be more excited! Go Blue!

Will Uhl, Operations Manager
