Wolverines Solid at HOCR
BOSTON, MA.-- The University of Michigan men's
rowing team performed well at the 42nd annual Head of
the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass. on
Sunday, October 22. U-M entered two boats,
one racing in the Championship 8 race, and the
other battling it out in the Collegiate 8.
Michigan's first test was the Collegiate 8,
where the Wolverine boat finished 14th out of 58
with a time of 15:52.514. The top boat was
the Western Rowing Club with a time of
15:08.301.
In the Championship 8, U-M posted
a time of 15:05.540 for a 24th place finish out
of 44 crews. The winner of the
Championship 8 race was the Princeton Training
Center with a time of 14:09.673. Michigan
will now have three weeks to train before the
annual "WolverBuck Oar" on November 18 vs. Ohio
State. Michigan has won the event 10 years
in a row, and will look to retain the 'Oar' in
Columbus this year. |
