Maize and Blue Dominate Speakman

COLUMBUS, OH.-- The University of Michigan men's rowing team found themselves in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend, but it wasn't to take on the Buckeyes, but rather to participate in the Speakman Memorial Regatta on Saturday, October 28.  The Wolverines faired well, grabbing both the first and fourth place finishes in the Championship 8 race as the Wolverines edged Purdue (14:32) and Mercyhurst (14:33) with a time of 14:18 to win the gold.  Michigan's "B" boat snagged fourth place with a time of 14:44.

Michigan will now have two weeks to train before the annual "WolverBuck Oar" on November 18 vs. Ohio State.  Michigan has won the event 10 years in a row, and will look to retain the 'Oar' in Columbus this year.
