V8 takes down Trinity and Virginia after ECAC Cancelled
WHITNEY POINT, N.Y. -- The University of Michigan men's rowing team
was a traveling show this past weekend.
Kicking things off at the ECAC Championship
Regatta on Saturday, poor weather cancelled the
majority of the second day in Whitney Point,
N.Y., but the Wolverines were able to pack up
and travel to Ithaca, N.Y. with Trinity College
and the University of Virginia to finish off the
day. At the ECAC's, Michigan had started
well, with the 1V8 finishing first in their
semi-final race, while the F8 grabbed a
second-place finish in their semi. After
the move to Ithaca, Michigan's 1V8 finished
first in their race with a time of 5:55.5, six
seconds ahead of Trinity at 6:01.6. U-M
finished second in four other races including
the 2V8, F8, 3V8, and 2F8. Please visit www.row2k.com for complete results for both races. The
Wolverines will now have to sit back and wait to
see which boats qualify for the IRA National
Championship Regatta in Camden, N.J. between May
31-June 2. Please check back before the
event for updated coverage. |
