Intersquad Pairs Matrix Ends in Port Side Tie
ANN ARBOR, MICH-- The University of Michigan men's rowing team held its annual intersquad pair matrix on Friday and Saturday (September 28-29). Trevor Scott ( Lafayette, Ind./Lexington) and Mike Dombroski (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) tied on port side, both with a total time of 13:22.5 for 4 pieces over the 900 unmarked course. Dan Brock (Bloomfield Hills, Mich/Seaholm) won the starboard side with a total time of 13:20.4.
The Grand Final consisted of the top 2 finishers from each of the two pools, each pool consisting of half of the the top 8 erg scores on both the port and starboard sides. Every starboard rowed with every port in the heats and the top 2 times on both sides advanced to the Grand Final. The same matrix was used in the Final where every port rowed the 900m course with every starboard. The finish placement was based on total time.
Michigan opens the fall season next month in Rockford, Ill (Oct. 7).
