Palestine Conference 2009
9th-10th October 2009
150 Hutchins Hall

On October 9th and 10th, SAFE, in collaboration with Pakistani Students Association and Palestinian Students Association, held a conference at the University to assess and explore the current situation Palestinians find themselves in as a result of more than 60 years of dispossession, occupation, and colonization. The conference featured seven speakers including three academics - Joel Kovel, Hani Bawardi, and Ghada Karmi - and four activists - Yousef Munayyer, Fayyad Sbaihat, Will Youmans, and Ali Abunimah; and was proceeded by a Palestine Freedom Walk sponsored by the American Association for Palestinian Equal Rights.
