Holding Israel Accountable for Crimes in Gaza
and the West Bank

Ramon Stern is a PhD student at the University of Michigan. He studies both Arabic and Hebrew-language literature. The past year he lived in Cairo, Egypt and had the opportunity to travel to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza.

He visited Israel and the West Bank during Operation Cast Lead and then went on a student delegation to Gaza in June 2009.

His talk will retell the stories of his travels and his experience of political awakening.

Film Screening of Bil'in, Habibti

Bil'in is facing being divided by the Israeli safety fence and more than half of the village is about to be absorbed by a neighboring Jewish settlement. The villagers confront the Israeli army with creative, weekly demonstrations and direct actions. The army replies with arrests, tear gas, and bullets. Armed with a camera, the Israeli director Pollack comes to Bil'in as an activist. During his stay, Bil'in turns into a symbol of resistance against the safety fence and the Israeli Occupation.
