Our Mission is to promote and defend the dignity and protection of all human life, from the moment of conception until natural death.

Students for Life is the University of Michigan's leading pro-life activist group. This means that we are opposed to abortion, the death penalty, and euthanasia (the "mercy killing" practiced by Dr. Jack Kevorkian and others). We see these as injustices and brutal crimes that should not be committed in a civilized world, but most of all we see them for what they are: the active murder of one human being by another. Our members represent many diverse nationalities, religious backgrounds, and political leanings. Anyone who has a strong belief in the sanctity of life is welcome to join our group.

We have participated in the March for Life in Washington D.C. the past few years, brought the controversial but effective Genocide Awareness Project to campus in Fall 2000, and participate in Life Chain yearly. Aside from that, SFL brings prominent speakers to campus, volunteers at Problem Pregnancy Help Center and at Mott's Children's Hospital, leads protests and vigils, and writes letters to campus publications.
