Health Information

International students, scholars and their dependents residing in the U.S. are required to purchase the University’s International Student/Scholar Accident and Sickness Health Insurance Plan unless, in the judgement of the University, comparable coverage is provided from another source. If you wish to waive participation in the University of Michigan Plan, you must bring proof of this coverage to the International Center every year.

You'll get all the information you need during the mandatory orientation at the International Center. We may still point out that, your health insurance fees will most probably be paid by your department if you have financial aid.
