Meet our new board members and join a committee! Located below are bios of our E-Board members and descriptions of their committees.
Cynthia Yoon: Co-president

- Major: Political Science & Asian Studies
- Hobbies: dancing, eating, sleeping, Facebooking, playing instruments, kicking-it
- Responsibilities
- Oversee UPSA operations (Treasury/Walker Conference)
- External liaison, securing speakers and directly communicating with UPSA’s departmental advisor
Lacey Butler: Co-president

- Major/Minor: PS/PSJ
- Hobbies: running, exercise in all forms, slinging coffee at ERC
- Responsibilities:
- Oversee general UPSA operations
- Internal cohesion
- PR-focused
Ahbra Williams: Public Relations

- Major: PS
- Hobbies: Running, reading, going to concerts
- Responsibilities:
- Cross-campus UPSA advertisement
- Member recruitment
Publicity Committee:
- Promote events and increase membership through advertisements (flyers, e-mails, etc.)
- Committee members will have to design advertisements and distribute them around campus
- Looking for creative individuals who have an interest in PR!
Keith Lazere: Internal Affairs

- Major/Minor: PS/Psych
- Hobbies: Watching the Giants and Yankees, eating, softball
- Responsibilities:
- Website updates
- Documenting events
- Internal communication
Internal Affairs Committee:
- Maintaining the website and documenting events.
- Show up to events and assist with other internal upkeep.
- Looking for: motivated and cooperative people.
Jane Shim: Walker Conference Chair

- Major/Minor: PS/Soc/Stats
- Honors Thesis: “Interconnections of Political Institutions and Civil Society in Thailand" with Dr. Allen Hicken
- Hobbies: Sailing and traveling
- Responsibilities:
- Organizing all aspects of the Walker Conference
Walker Conference Committee:
- Conference that is put on once a year in late spring, this committee will be dedicated solely towards organizing, recruiting, and executing ideas for the Walker Conference.
- Educational Value: Helping students get a broader perspective on political issues, while giving them the opportunity to hear experts in their fields talk about various political matters. Being able to give students a better insight into the academia aspect of issues.
- Qualifications: Innovative, Responsible, Organized, Dedicated, Enthusiastic
Michael de Souza: Treasurer

- Major/Minor: PS/Voice
- Hobbies: Soccer, Movies
- Responsibilities:
- Ensure the fiscal stability of UPSA by creating an expenditure budget
- Maintain current important financial documentation
- Secure funding from the University and private sources for all events
- Issue member reimbursement
Finance Committee:
- Treasury
- Managing funds, booking rooms, fundraising
- Developing fundraising events and carrying them out
- A combination of creativity as well as an interest in finance
