Progressive Zionism

• The Jewish tradition is rooted in social justice and the collective strength of critical, engaged, and active leaders within our community.

• Our struggle against anti-Semitism is inherently linked to all struggles against oppression.

• The Jewish people constitute a nation and must have an internationally recognized home in the land of Israel.

• This must not be allowed to violate the national or human rights of the Palestinian people.

Vision for Israel

• The vast majority of Israelis and Palestinians long for an enduring peace.

• The on-going conflict threatens Israel's security, severely damages its economy, and erodes the values that underlie a democratic society.

• Israel must be at peace with its neighbors and act cooperatively in the world community in accordance with international law.

• Israel must be a socially just, democratic, and egalitarian society for all its people.

• Israel must recognize all expressions of religion including secular and cultural practices.

Necessary Steps: Israel/Palestine

• An immediate end to all terrorism, violence against civilians, and collective punishment.

• An end to Israel's occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.\

• A just, negotiated, two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, recognizing the rights of self-determination for both peoples.

• Such a settlement must address the issue of Palestinian refugees not just from a political viewpoint—but also from a moral one.

Necesary Steps: USA

As Jewish campus activists we are committed to:

• Creating constructive dialogue on Israel and the prospects for peace within the Jewish-American community and by working with like-minded Pro-Palestinian organizations.

• Directing U.S. foreign policy toward the realization of a just peace in Israel and Palestine and insuring that American aid is supportive of these aims.

• Drawing attention to Israeli policies that violate international law or Jewish ethics in order that they may be corrected
