Those who own groups in the U-M Online Directory will be required to renew them on a yearly basis under a new policy implemented Feb. 19 by Information Technology Central Services. It is designed to reduce the amount of spam that people receive through their membership in obsolete directory groups. Group owners do not need to act now. They will be notified via e-mail 90 days before their groups expire. These messages will begin going out in October. If group owners do not renew their groups at that point, they will receive a final renewal reminder 30 days before expiration. For more information go to www.itcs.umich.edu/itcsdocs/s4277/.

Record publication note

The University Record will not publish on Feb. 26 because of winter break. The next issue of the Record will be published March 5. The deadline for copy is 5 p.m. on Feb. 27. The advertising deadline for the March 5 issue is 5 p.m. Feb. 26. Important news updates will be published online at www.umich.edu/urecord.
