I grew up in Grosse Pointe Michigan where Joanna teaches Spanish. I went to
a boarding school in New Hampshire for my last two years of High School. I
became very active in many school organizations. I joined the fire
department and helped start a large scale maple syrup production hut. I
helped start a school radio which broadcast on 820 AM. FM was too difficult
and had way too many regulations. By the time we graduated, we were
transmitting a signal which could be heard over 8 miles away. We used
picture tubes to amplify the signal. I wired the towns ski mountain for
timing races and wanted to install some cameras so people at the opposite
end of the race knew what was going on. This was unsuccessful because of a
lack of funding.
I have spent the past three semesters working in Ann Arbor. I worked at a
company called Cybernet Systems and Electro Scientific Industries. At
Cybernet I developed a wireless portable physiological monitoring device
that was worn around the waist. At ESi, I worked on different computer
vision projects. I also spent two summers building a house for my parents.
Currently I am taking Flying lessons and studying for my FAA exam.
