I'm a middle school Spanish teacher and computer consultant for Grosse Pointe Schools so a lot of my interest in this course goes back to the classroom - What will these technologies allow us to do differently?  Better?  In a more compelling way?  After the tic-tac-toe show and tell I've been thinking about games and simulations.  What kind of game would maximize or even require this kind of technology.

Technically speaking I work mostly in a PC environment.  I'm comfortable with HTML. (Casa de Porvin is at: members.aol.com/JPorvin) I also worked as a software developer for Project FLAME (Foreign Language Applications in the Multimedia Environment) which used Toolbook to interface between laserdiscs and PCs.  I have little experience with AV.

Two teachers at my school got a mini-grant from the state to do Net-based videoconferencing in the science program.  One of our science teachers is on exchange in Venezuela.  We have about $2500 to spend. We're networked to a TI - they have a phone and a modem (not sure about the speed yet.)  So I'm interested in getting feedback from the group here -- good bandwith issues.
